Be a Vaccine Ambassador
If you’re one of the many, many Broward County residents who has already gotten their vaccine, you can be an ambassador for those that are vaccine hesitant. Share your experience with those who have not had the vaccine. If your family, friends and neighbors don’t have a personal health reason or physician’s recommendation NOT to take the vaccine, help educate them on the safety of the vaccine, and importance of achieving “herd immunity” so all our lives can return to normal. TSA Now Requires Face Masks at Airports and Onboard Aircraft
Effective February 2, 2021, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requires face masks for anyone traveling in a U.S. airport and onboard aircraft. Failure to comply with the new federal mandate, which runs through May 11, 2021, may result in removal from the airport, denial of re-entry, and civil penalties.
Broward County's Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), is actively promoting this new federal face mask requirement throughout the airport, on its website, and through social media. Airport personnel will ask individuals not wearing a mask to put one on, and if they don't have one, a mask will be provided. If they refuse, per the TSA Security Directive, they will be escorted from the airport.
The new TSA mandate will complement FLL's ongoing FLLy Safer, FLLy Smarter, FLLy Better public confidence campaign launched in June 2020, which reminds everyone to wear face masks in the terminals and Rental Car Center.
The information below details Miramar’s daily increase 45-day moving trend, Broward County Positivity Rate 14-day trend, Vernon E. Hargray Youth Enrichment Center (VEHYEC) 45-day trend of administered COVID-19 exams, international, national, state and tri-county positive and death cases as of 11 am today which includes COVID-19 statistics per Miramar zip codes, antibody testing statistics, and Florida County and City statistics, which provides insight on how Miramar is doing in comparison to other localities.
Positivity rates shown below are based on Broward County and Florida State numbers for testing, which include all positive and negative testing results. There are instances where media outlets publicize only Florida resident positivity rates, which can be misleading as this only highlights a segment of the number of persons tested. There are non-resident positive cases that may include those individuals who spend the winter here, students who may attend school here but their permanent address is elsewhere, are here on a work visa or who simply never remembered to change their ID to their current Florida address. The charts below include the entirety of the population tested, to include the aforementioned individuals.
*New case positivity rates shown are based on Broward County residents testing positive for the first time and excludes those who previously tested positive. Values subject to change after the fact as additional results received.
