Please be advised that credit card companies assess a fee to the City whenever payment is made by credit/debit. This fee is charged as a percentage of your total payment. Transactions will be fully processed by the end of the next business day.

Because of this additional expense, Florida law allows the City to charge customers a convenience fee to offset this additional expense. Therefore, if you use credit/debit to pay your bill, you will be charged a Credit Processing fee of 1.85%. All Credit Processing fees are paid to the third party company the City uses to process card transactions and are non-refundable. 

To avoid the Credit Processing fee, you may pay by check, money order, cash (in person only) and electronic check (withdrawn directly from your bank account).

PLEASE NOTE: (On-line check payments)

Online check payments are allowed from checking accounts only. Payments made using savings accounts will not be processed even though a confirmation number is assigned. A confirmation number for an online check payment does not guarantee payment was approved. Approval only occurs once funds have been withdrawn from your account and usually occurs after 5 to 7 business days. 

The City of Miramar operates under the Sunshine Law. Most written communications to or from City officials regarding city business are public records, however we will not share your financial information such as, but not limited to Credit or Banking information.
